TRACE: Sea ghosts & other phenomena

Hair rustled by a gust of salty wind, imprints made on sand and washed away. Fleeting moments

in time, space and place that ignite our senses, fill us with powerful emotions and remind us of

our humble place alongside nature. Apparitions and supernatural forces, art that blurs the

distinction between reality and illusion.

The intersection of artists Kim McDonald, Jasmine Susic and Karli Duckett, TRACE: Sea ghosts &

other phenomena is a collection of works that span monoprints, photography, movement and

film. Celebrating their collaboration during a South Gippsland Shire Council ArtCube residency

and documentation, the works feature both the natural world and the constructed environment

featuring elements of the Bunurong coast alongside Coal Creek Community Park & Museum. An

enduring connection has enabled the artists to investigate their environs through sense with this

collection resulting in both imprint and erasure.
